What’s the Problem?
July 17, 2017 – The collision happened just after noon on Sunday, according to NBC Connecticut. Police said the moped operator suffered traumatic injuries and remains in critical condition at Yale-New Haven Hospital.
The driver of the vehicle involved in the crash, a 44-year-old woman from Hamden, Connecticut, was not hurt. Police said she worked for Uber and was on the clock at the time of the accident. A passenger in the car was also uninjured, police said.
The Uber driver remained at the scene of the accident and has been cooperating with police. She told police she was stopped at a red light heading west on Willow Street. She reported that when the light turned green, she drove into the intersection and hit the moped, which was traveling north on Orange Street.
