What’s the problem?
June 16, 2017 – The Uber driver, Guy Theron of Sarasota, Florida, was speeding northbound on Higel Avenue in his 2008 Dodge minivan when for unknown reasons, he swerved striking a southbound car near Faubel Street at around 6 p.m. Wednesday.
After striking the car, police said Theron swerved again, and hit a second vehicle.
Ian Lee, 18, of Sarasota was the driver of a 2000 Honda whose rear axle and trunk were torn off in the crash. He was transported to Sarasota Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Two other Sarasota residents, ages 17 and 19, in a black Scion were transported with serious and critical injuries, respectively. Both are expected to make full recoveries.
There was an Uber sticker on Theron’s car, but police said he was not driving for Uber at the time and he was the only person inside his vehicle.
