How Can Talc Cause Cancer?
Although the exact mechanism by which talcum powder causes ovarian cancer is still unknown, one theory involves chronic inflammation of the genital area, as tiny talc particles travel through the uterus, up into the Fallopian tubes and ovaries. Another theory is that talc may suppress certain antibodies that usually protect against cancer, increasing risk of the disease.
