On January 15, 2026, the CPSC warned consumers to immediately stop using Yiiektily self-feeding pillows because they hold bottles at unsafe angles while keeping them fixed in place so infants cannot pull away, which can lead to aspiration of milk or formula and risk of suffocation. [1] Yiiektily has not responded to CPSC’s request to recall the pillows or offer a remedy to consumers.

Product Details

The Yiiektily self-feeding pillows are made of stuffed fabric with an elastic sleeve to hold a bottle in front of an infant’s face. They were sold in white and may have been available in other colors.

Approximately 4,400 units were sold on Amazon.com from April 2024 to July 2025 for $12 to $19. The products were manufactured by Shenzhenshibeichenghangkeijiyouxiangongsi in China and sold by Yiiektily.

Suffocation Hazard

The pillows hold bottles at unsafe angles directly in front of infants’ faces while the elastic sleeve keeps the bottle fixed in place. This prevents babies from pulling away even when choking or struggling to breathe, causing aspiration where liquid enters the lungs instead of the stomach.

Refusal to Recall

Yiiektily has not responded to CPSC’s request to recall the self-feeding pillows and offer a remedy to consumers. The CPSC took the unusual step of issuing a public safety warning after the seller refused to cooperate.

CPSC Consumer Warning

The CPSC urges consumers to stop using the pillows immediately and dispose of them. Consumers should not sell or give away these hazardous products.

Federal law prohibits selling products subject to a Commission-ordered recall or voluntary recall. Parents risk their infant’s death from aspiration or suffocation by continuing to use these devices.

Safe Bottle Feeding Practices

Never leave a bottle propped in an infant’s mouth using a pillow, blanket, or other support, even if marketed as safe or used under supervision. Always hold and closely watch your baby when feeding with a bottle, keeping the baby semi-inclined.

Why Bottle Propping Is Deadly

Bottle propping devices prevent infants from controlling milk or formula flow into their mouths. When babies cannot pull away, they may be forced to continue swallowing even when they need to pause for breath, resulting in aspiration that can cause choking, suffocation, and death.

Legal Claims

Parents may pursue strict products liability claims alleging the pillows are defectively designed because they hold bottles at unsafe angles and prevent infants from pulling away during respiratory distress. Failure to warn claims are viable since products marketed as “self-feeding” devices imply safety when they actually pose deadly hazards.

Negligence claims can allege Yiiektily breached its duty to provide safe infant products and refused to recall dangerous devices despite CPSC warnings. Wrongful death claims may be filed by parents whose infants died from aspiration or suffocation while using these pillows.

Damages

Families whose infants were injured may recover medical expenses for emergency treatment, hospitalization, respiratory therapy, and ongoing care. In wrongful death cases, families can pursue damages for funeral expenses, loss of companionship, and emotional trauma from losing an infant to preventable suffocation.

Amazon’s Role

Amazon.com was the exclusive platform for Yiiektily self-feeding pillow sales, facilitating the distribution of approximately 4,400 units. As the retailer that enabled sales of these dangerous infant products, Amazon may face liability for allowing the distribution of bottle-propping devices known to pose suffocation risks.

Class Action Potential

With approximately 4,400 units sold on Amazon, a class action lawsuit could address the widespread distribution of these deadly products. Economic damages for consumers who purchased defective pillows could be recovered even without physical injury.

Contact an Attorney

If your infant suffered injury or death from aspiration or suffocation while using a Yiiektily self-feeding pillow, contact a product liability attorney. Time limits apply and evidence including the pillow, Amazon purchase records, and medical documentation must be preserved.
