What’s the Problem?
This NHTSA Recall began on Oct. 19, 2020, and affects Harley-Davidson LiveWire motorcycles from model year 2020.
The electric vehicle powertrain on the recalled Harleys may unexpectedly shut down and not restart due to a software issue in the Onboard Charging (OBC) system, NHTSA said. An unexpected loss of propulsion without the ability to restart may increase the risk of a crash.
If you purchased a motorcycle that is affected by this recall, you should stop using it immediately and contact your local Harley dealer to schedule a free OBC software upgrade.
Harley-Davidson’s number for this recall is 0176.
