Latest Updates
On May 28, 2026, Tzumi Electronics of New York, New York announced a voluntary recall of its SLF Sauna Blankets in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) [1]. Approximately 3,600 units are affected. The recalled sauna blankets were manufactured in China and imported by Tzumi Electronics.
What Products Are Affected?
The recall covers the SLF Sauna Blanket, model number 30065TAR, with serial number WF2236430065. The sauna blanket is black with white accent handles, measures 70 inches long by 31 inches wide, and was sold with a control panel and wireless remote to adjust time and temperature settings.
The serial number is located on the controller. The recalled sauna blankets were sold in-store at Target, Macy’s, and Snappy, and online at Target.com from February 2025 through February 2026 for approximately $130.
What Is the Hazard?
The recalled SLF Sauna Blankets can overheat during use, posing fire and burn hazards to consumers. Because the product is designed to envelop the user’s body in heat during a session, an overheating blanket creates a particularly dangerous situation — exposing the user to burns at close range while simultaneously posing a fire risk to the furniture or surfaces on which the blanket is used.
Incidents and Injuries
Tzumi Electronics has received six reports of the recalled sauna blankets overheating. Five of those incidents resulted in minor property damage to consumers’ furniture. No personal injuries have been reported to date.
What Caused the Recall?
The recall was initiated after Tzumi Electronics identified that the SLF Sauna Blanket can exceed safe operating temperatures during normal use. The overheating defect affects all units with model number 30065TAR and serial number WF2236430065, which span the full sales period from February 2025 through February 2026.
What Should Consumers Do?
Consumers who own the recalled SLF Sauna Blanket should stop using it immediately and unplug it. To receive a free replacement, consumers should first visit www.tzumi.com/recalls to confirm eligibility by checking their serial number.
If confirmed, consumers should unplug the sauna blanket, cut the power cord, write “Recalled” on the controller, and submit photographs showing the serial number and the “Recalled” marking on the controller per the instructions provided at www.tzumi.com/recalls. Consumers may also contact Tzumi Electronics at 866-363-2237, Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ET, or by email at saunablanketrecall@tzumi.com.
Can I File a Lawsuit?
Consumers who purchased the recalled Tzumi SLF Sauna Blanket — particularly those who suffered burns or property damage as a result of the blanket overheating — may have significant legal options. A class action lawsuit could allow affected consumers to seek compensation for medical expenses, property damage, pain and suffering, lost wages, and other related losses.
