What is the Magic Bullet Blender?

Similar to the NutriBullet blender, the Magic Bullet is a handheld blender and food processor that is advertised by Alchemy Worldwide as an appliance that can “make your life easier.” Thanks to an aggressive marketing campaign, the Magic Bullet is currently one of the top-selling appliances in the world, generating more than $500 million in revenue in more than 50 countries.

Magic Bullet Injuries

  • Severe burns to the hands, arms, and face of users and those standing nearby
  • Scalding
  • Lacerations
  • Injuries to children who think the Magic Bullet is a toy
  • Other injuries

Magic Bullet Vs. NutriBullet

According to the NutriBullet website, the Magic Bullet blender is smaller and significantly less powerful than the NutriBullet PRO. The two also feature completely different blade designs, according to NutriBullet, LLC. The company says that whereas the “NutriBullet PRO is specifically designed to pulverize and emulsify foods,” the Magic Bullet is more suitable for “making iced coffee drinks, fruit smoothies, sorbets or milk shakes, as well as chopping onion or mincing garlic and other day-to-day kitchen uses.”

Has There Been a Recall?

Despite being linked to multiple reports of severe burn injuries to users and those nearby after their Magic Bullet exploded, Homeland Housewares has not recalled the appliance, or even adequately warned consumers about these risks.

About Class Action Lawsuits

Although we are a nationally recognized class action firm, the Products Liability Litigation Group at our law firm has decided against the filing of a Magic Bullet class action suit and is currently filing individual claims on behalf of individuals and/or their family members that have been severely burned or suffered other major injuries from the Magic Bullet blender.

A class action is a type of lawsuit filed with the court on behalf of large group of people or “class” of individuals that have been injured or wronged. The class is represented by the law firm and the case is generally decided upon a single member of the class who is sometimes referred to as the “class representative or class rep.”

Why Our Law Firm Is Filing Individual Lawsuits Opposed To a Class Action

In some instances, a class action may offer some advantages, as they aggregate a large number of individualized claims into one representational lawsuit. The aggregation can increase the efficiency of the legal process, lower the costs of litigation and in some cases offer the solution to a common problem wherein small recoveries do not provide the incentive for any individual or law firm to file an individual lawsuit.

However, a class action suit can also be a detriment to many class members, as they are often forced into a blanket “low ball settlement” and higher attorney fees. At Schmidt & Clark, LLP we understand that our clients are suffering emotionally and economically due to loss of wages and/or high medical bills and we plan to maximize each client’s recovery by filing individual Magic Bullet lawsuits on their behalf.
