What is the NutriBullet?
The NutriBullet Blender consists of a closed canister with blades that spin at tens of thousands of revolutions per minute (RPMs). The blender comes in the following models: NutriBullet Original, NutriBullet Pro, NutriBullet Lean, and NutriBullet RX.
What’s the Problem?
Lawsuits allege that the high speeds at which the NutriBullet blades run creates friction, heat, and a destabilized environment in which an explosion is likely to occur. Sheryl Utal, a plaintiff in one of the new suits, said her NutriBullet worked great for years, until one morning it exploded after about 20 seconds, causing her second-degree burns.
“It just came flying out all over me, all over the kitchen, the ceilings, the walls,” Utal said. “And it was on my chest. It also had hit me in the face as well.”
