On May 28, 2026, Giantex Inc. of Ontario, California announced a voluntary recall of approximately 1,155 outdoor lounge chairs in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) [1]. The recall was issued after the company received a report of a consumer’s finger being amputated while adjusting the chair.

What Products Are Affected?

The recall covers Giantex outdoor lounge chairs with model number NP10025NY. The chairs are blue and measure 76 inches long by 23 inches wide by 13 inches high, featuring a five-position adjustable locking system with a backrest height that can be adjusted from 13.5 inches to 26.5 inches.

The model number NP10025NY is printed on the front and side of the product packaging. The recalled chairs were sold on Giantex.com and Amazon.com from August 2023 through October 2025 for between $75 and $90. They were manufactured in China and distributed by Giantex Inc. of Ontario, California.

What Is the Hazard?

The lounge chair’s five-position adjustable locking system creates a pinch point when consumers attempt to adjust the backrest. When a consumer’s fingers are in or near the adjustment mechanism, the moving parts can close on the hand with enough force to cause amputation.

Incidents and Injuries

Giantex has received one report of a consumer’s finger being amputated while adjusting the recalled lounge chair. Finger amputations are among the most severe and life-altering injuries a consumer product can cause, often requiring emergency surgery, lengthy rehabilitation, and resulting in permanent disability.

What Caused the Recall?

The recall was initiated after Giantex identified that the adjustment mechanism on the lounge chair creates a dangerous pinch point during normal operation. The design of the five-position locking system allows fingers to become entrapped between moving components, generating sufficient force to cause traumatic amputation.

What Should Consumers Do?

Consumers who own the recalled Giantex outdoor lounge chair should stop using it immediately and keep it away from children and adults alike until it has been returned or destroyed. To receive a full refund, consumers should contact Giantex, which will instruct them to either request a prepaid return package or destroy the chair by detaching the headrest pillow, cutting the fabric, and submitting photographic proof of destruction.

Consumers may contact Giantex toll-free at 844-242-1885, available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, by email at support@giantex.com, or online at www.giantex.com/pages/product-recall-notice. Can I File a Lawsuit?

A class action lawsuit could allow affected consumers to seek compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, permanent disability, pain and suffering, and other related losses.
