On July 2, 2026, Conair LLC of Stamford, Connecticut announced a voluntary recall of approximately 1,719,995 Cuisinart metal wire bristle grill brushes in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) [1]. The brushes were manufactured in China and imported by Conair LLC.

What Products Are Affected?

The recall covers eight Cuisinart metal wire bristle grill brush models with black plastic, stainless steel, and wood handles. The word “Cuisinart” is stamped on the brush handle, and the model number can be found on the product packaging. The affected models are:

  • CCB-100 – Triple Bristle Grill Cleaning Brush (January 2013–March 2026)
  • CCB-4125 – 4-in-1 Grill Cleaning Brush with Stainless Steel Wire Bristles (October 2022–March 2026)
  • CCB-5014 – BBQ Grill Cleaning Brush and Scraper, 16.5″ Stainless Steel (June 2009–March 2026)
  • CCB-6450 – Triple Bristle Grill Brush SS Bristles (January 2025–March 2026)
  • CCB-8012 – 2-In-1 Grill Brush Bristle/Coil (January 2025–March 2026)
  • CCB-4114 – Pizza Stone Cleaning Brush (2024)
  • CCB-W2 – Wood Grill Cleaning Brush, 18.5″ with Pakka Wood Handle (March 2024–July 2025)
  • CSBS-777 – Steam Clean Grill Brush (March 2014–July 2025)

Some recalled brushes were also sold as part of four Cuisinart grill tool sets: the Premium Grill 10 Piece Set (CGS-2010), 13 Piece Wooden Handle Grill Tool Set (CGS-W13), 14 Piece Deluxe Stainless Steel Grill Set (CGS-5014), and 20 Piece Deluxe Grill Set (CGS-5020). The recalled brushes were sold at Burlington, TJ Maxx, and Ross stores and online at Amazon.com and Cuisinart.com from June 2009 through March 2026 for between $8 and $20.

What Is the Hazard?

Small metal wire bristles can detach from the recalled brushes and stick to a grill’s cooking surface or adhere to food being prepared. When a consumer unknowingly eats food containing a detached wire bristle, the bristle can lacerate the mouth, throat, or digestive tract and become lodged — potentially requiring surgical removal.

Incidents and Injuries

Conair has received at least 54 reports of wire bristles detaching from the recalled grill brushes. Three of those reports involved consumers who swallowed detached wire bristles and sought medical treatment to have the bristles removed from their throat or digestive tract.

What Should Consumers Do?

Consumers who own any of the recalled Cuisinart grill brushes should stop using them immediately and discard them. To receive a full cash refund or a Cuisinart.com credit for the full refund amount plus an additional 20%, consumers should contact Conair.

Consumers may reach Conair toll-free at 888-520-1304, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. ET, or online at www.recallrtr.com/grillbrushes. Additional information is available at www.cuisinart.com by clicking “Product Recalls” at the bottom of the page.

Can I File a Lawsuit?

Consumers who swallowed a wire bristle from a recalled Cuisinart grill brush — or who suffered a laceration, internal injury, or required medical treatment as a result — may have significant legal options. A class action lawsuit could allow affected consumers to seek compensation for medical expenses, surgical costs, pain and suffering, lost wages, and other related losses.
