On September 10, 2026, AGA Rangemaster Limited of the United Kingdom announced a voluntary recall of AGA Elise and Mercury Series freestanding dual fuel ranges and La Cornue CornuFé 90 and CornuFé 110 Series freestanding dual fuel ranges in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) [1]. The recall was designated a Fast Track Recall by the CPSC. The ranges were manufactured in the United Kingdom and approximately 336 additional units were sold in Canada.

What Products Are Affected?

The recall covers freestanding dual fuel ranges manufactured between March 19, 2025 and July 24, 2026, available in stainless steel, white, and 13 other colors, with Natural or LP gas configurations. All six affected models are included in the recall:

  • AGA Elise Freestanding Dual Fuel Range — Model AEL361DF (36-inch)
  • AGA Elise Freestanding Dual Fuel Range — Model AEL481DF (48-inch)
  • AGA Mercury Freestanding Dual Fuel Range — Model AMC36DF (36-inch)
  • AGA Mercury Freestanding Dual Fuel Range — Model AMC48DF (48-inch)
  • La Cornue CornuFé 90 Freestanding Dual Fuel Range — Model LAC9 (36-inch)
  • La Cornue CornuFé 110 Freestanding Dual Fuel Range — Model LAC1 (43-inch)

To confirm whether a specific unit is recalled, consumers should locate the rating plate on the bottom panel of the range under the storage drawer and check their model and serial number at www.lacornueusa.com/testcap-recall or www.agarangeusa.com/testcap-recall. The recalled ranges were sold at authorized appliance dealers nationwide from March 2025 through July 2026 for between $6,000 and $20,000.

What Is the Hazard?

A cap is missing from the gas test port on the recalled dual fuel ranges, allowing gas to leak from the port during normal use. A gas leak inside a kitchen — particularly from a high-BTU professional-grade cooking appliance — can accumulate to explosive concentrations before the odor is detected, posing a serious risk of fire or explosion that can injure occupants and cause significant structural damage.

Incidents and Injuries

No incidents or injuries have been reported in connection with the recalled ranges as of the September 10, 2026 recall date. Given the price point and the nature of the defect, immediate action is strongly recommended regardless of the absence of reported incidents.

What Should Consumers Do?

Consumers who own any of the recalled AGA Elise, AGA Mercury, La Cornue CornuFé 90, or La Cornue CornuFé 110 dual fuel ranges should immediately shut off the gas supply to the range and stop using the gas surface burners. Consumers may continue using only the electric oven sections of the range until the free repair is completed.

To schedule a free inspection and repair by a certified technician, consumers should verify their model at www.lacornueusa.com/testcap-recall or www.agarangeusa.com/testcap-recall and then contact AGA Rangemaster toll-free at 888-257-7912, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. ET.

Can I File a Lawsuit?

Consumers who suffered injuries, property damage, or fire damage caused by a gas leak from a recalled AGA or La Cornue dual fuel range may have significant legal options against AGA Rangemaster and the authorized dealers that sold the product. Contact an attorney promptly to have your case evaluated.
