Latest Updates
On May 14, 2026, ZWILLING J. A. Henckels Aktiengesellschaft announced a voluntary recall of its ENFINIGY 1.5 L Electric Kettle and ENFINIGY 1.5 L Electric Kettle Pro in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) [1]. The recall covers approximately 113,440 units sold in the United States, in addition to approximately 43,963 units sold in Canada and 48 units sold in Mexico.
What Products Are Affected?
The recall covers two models of ZWILLING ENFINIGY electric stainless-steel kettles, available in black, silver, rose, gold, and pure-white. The affected model numbers, which can be found on the bottom of the kettle and the bottom of the power base, are:
- 53101-200, 53101-201 – ZWILLING ENFINIGY Electric Kettle, 1.5 L
- 53101-500, 53101-501, 53101-502, 53101-503, 53101-504 – ZWILLING ENFINIGY Electric Kettle Pro, 1.5 L
The recalled kettles were sold at HomeGoods stores nationwide and online at zwilling.com from December 2019 through February 2026 for between $120 and $200.
What Is the Hazard?
The handle of the recalled electric kettles can loosen and separate from the body of the kettle during use. When this occurs, the kettle can tip or fall, causing hot water or boiling liquid to spill onto the user, posing a serious risk of burn injury.
Incidents and Injuries
ZWILLING has received a total of 163 reports of the kettle’s handle loosening or separating. Of those, five incidents involved the handle fully separating from the kettle. One consumer suffered a second-degree burn as a result of the defect.
What Caused the Recall?
The recall was initiated after the company identified a defect in the connection between the handle and the body of the kettle. The handle attachment can weaken over time and fail during normal use, allowing the handle to pull away or detach entirely. Given that the kettle is designed to heat water to boiling temperatures, a separating handle creates an immediate risk of scalding burns.
What Should Consumers Do?
Consumers who own a recalled ZWILLING ENFINIGY Electric Kettle or ENFINIGY Electric Kettle Pro should stop using the product immediately. To receive a full refund, consumers in the United States should visit www.zwilling.com/kettle-recall for instructions on how to render the kettle unusable. The process involves unplugging the kettle, cutting the cord, and uploading a photo of the product. Consumers should then safely dispose of the product.

Can I File a Lawsuit?

A class action lawsuit could allow affected consumers to seek compensation for medical expenses, pain and suffering, lost wages, and other related losses.
