Vive Health recalled approximately 12,355 adult portable bed rails on February 19, 2026. The recall (CPSC 26-271) [1] involves two models of bed rails that violate the mandatory federal standard for adult portable bed rails and pose risks of serious injury or death from entrapment and asphyxiation.
Product Details
The recall involves two models of Vive Health Bed Rails. Model LVA1024 features a white frame with a black handle and measures 20 inches wide by 32 inches tall.
Model LVA3031BLK features a black frame with a black handle and measures 13 inches wide by 18 inches tall. Both models were manufactured by Ningbo Shenyu Medical Equipment Co., Ltd., of China and imported by Vive Health LLC of Naples, Florida.
The bed rails were sold online at Amazon.com and ViveHealth.com from August 2023 through December 2025. Prices ranged from $45 to $80.
Mandatory Standard Violations
The recalled bed rails violate the mandatory federal standard for adult portable bed rails. When the bed rails are attached to a bed, users can become entrapped within the bed rail or between the bed rail and the side of the mattress.
This creates a serious entrapment hazard and risk of death by asphyxiation. Additionally, the bed rails do not bear the required hazard warning labels mandated by federal safety regulations.
Hazard and Injuries
Users of the defective bed rails face life-threatening entrapment hazards. Individuals can become trapped within the bed rail structure itself or in the dangerous gap between the bed rail and the mattress edge.
Once entrapped, users may be unable to free themselves, leading to asphyxiation and potential death. No incidents or injuries have been reported to date.
Recall Instructions
Consumers should stop using Vive Health Bed Rails immediately and contact Vive Health for a full refund. Only bed rails purchased after August 21, 2023, are included in this recall.
To obtain a refund, consumers must write “RECALLED” on both the upper and lower bed rails with a permanent marker. They should then take a photo of the marked bed rail with the buyer’s name written on a piece of paper and email it to recalls@vivehealth.com.
After submitting the photo, consumers should dispose of the recalled product in accordance with state and local waste disposal procedures.
