What’s the Problem?
This CPSC Recall began on October 21, 2020, and affects:
- Trace Brass Bookcase (SKU: 338-925)
- Trace Black Bookcase (SKU: 603-232)
“CB2 has received 11 reports of the bookcase collapsing when loaded,” CPSC said.
The bookcases were imported by CB2, of Northbrook, Illinois, and sold online and at CB2 stores nationwide from June 2019 through July 2020 (Trace Brass bookcase) and during July 2020 (Trace Black bookcase) for about $1,400.
The cases measure approximately 62 inches tall by 34 inches wide, and have a brushed oak veneer or black frame with 2 wire mesh doors and 4 shelves. “Trace,” “CB2” and the SKU number are printed on a label on back of the shelves.
Consumers who purchased a recalled bookcase should stop using it immediately and contact CB2 for a free replacement case or a refund.
