What’s the Problem?
This NHTSA Recall began in December 2020, and affects Tesla Model Y vehicles from model year 2020.
“The bolts connecting the front upper control arm and steering knuckle may have not been properly tightened, allowing the upper control arm to detach from the steering knuckle,” NHTSA said. “A detached upper control arm can cause the wheels to lean in or out, decreasing the driver’s ability to steer and increasing the risk of a crash.”
If you purchased a Model Y that is affected by this recall, you should stop using it immediately and contact your Tesla dealer for a free inspection and, if necessary, repair.
Tesla’s number for this recall is SB-20-31-012.
