What’s the Problem?
According to a CPSC Recall Letter dated Nov. 3, 2022, this action affects RadWagon 4 Electric Cargo Bikes (ebikes) which were sold in black, white and orange colors.
Rad Power Bikes Inc. initiated this recall after the company received at least 137 reports of tires blowing out, deflating and separating from the sidewalls, resulting in 8 injuries including 5 reports of road rash, cuts and/or bruises and 1 report of a broken wrist and 1 report of a broken arm.
The recalled Radwagon bikes were manufactured in Thailand, and sold online and at Rad Power Bikes stores nationwide from September 2020 through August 2022 for about $2,000 (RadWagon 4 ebike) and for about $40 (tire) sold separately.
Consumers who purchased a recalled Radwagon ebike should stop using it immediately and contact Rad Power Bikes to schedule a free repair to replace both tires and rim strips. Rad Power Bikes is contacting all known purchasers directly.
