What’s the Problem?
This NHTSA Recall began on Jan. 19, 2021, and affects the following RVs with propane stoves that may leak gas, increasing the risk of a fire:
- 2019-2020 Newmar Bay Star
- 2019-2020 Newmar Ventana
- 2019 Newmar Ventana LE
- 2020 Newmar Canyon Star
- 2020 Newmar Dutch Star
- 2020 Newmar Kountry Star
- 2020 Newmar Super Star
- 2021 Newmar Bay Star Sport
These RVs are equipped with Dometic 3 burner cooking stoves with saddle valve securing bolts that may be overtightened, potentially damaging the o-ring seal and causing a continuous gas leak. “A gas leak can increase the risk of a fire,” NHTSA said.
Newmar is notifying owners and dealers will install a free remedy kit of gaskets, washers, thread locker bolts, and 2 round orange labels.
Newmar’s number for this recall is 20E 071.
