What’s the Problem?
December 15, 2017 – Habtamu Gebreslassie pled guilty to first-degree sexual assault, attempted first-degree sexual assault, and misdemeanor sexual abuse, which carry a combined maximum of five years in the slammer, according to ABC7.
The 24-year-old was charged with 1st-degree sexual abuse of a client and 1 count of 2nd-degree assault for allegedly assaulting 2 women while working as a masseur at a Massage Envy spa in Northwest Washington.
Gebrselassie’s attorney entered a guilty plea on Friday morning at D.C. Superior Court.
At least 2 other people have also accused Gebreslassie of sexual assault, though he has not yet been charged in either of those cases. Both incidents occurred at separate massage parlors – one in Northwest Washington and the other in Lanham, Maryland.
Gebreslassie was arrested on Sept. 27 and has been held without bond ever since.
A $25 million lawsuit was filed against Massage Envy in late September accusing the company of covering up the alleged sexual assaults.
