What’s the Problem?

December 14, 2017 – Jessica Oglesby had been promoted from receptionist at the Menifee Massage Envy to a full-fledged masseuse by November 2013. All seemed right in her world. What better way to celebrate than a relaxing massage?
Unfortunately, her masseuse — a trusted coworker of hers — had other ideas, and began touching her inappropriately.
“He then asked me if I wanted him to go higher,” Jessica said. “And when he started to, I jumped and said, ‘No!'”
The man that Oglesby claims assaulted her was arrested the next day, according to KABC-TV 7.
In a police report obtained by Eyewitness News, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said the man “was not being truthful about the incident.”
He laughed at times during the interview, telling detectives he was “trying out a new massage technique.” Deputies initially attempted to pursue felony charges against the man, but the DA’s office declined to prosecute, citing a lack of sufficient evidence.
Oglesby claims the assault left her with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and that she is still unable to work as a massage therapist.
“When my kids hug me, I tense up. When anybody is near me, I don’t want anybody to be near me,” she says. “Everything is upside down.”
Oglesby settled her lawsuit with the owner of the Massage Envy franchise out of court in June. The owner said he immediately suspended and later fired the accused massage therapist.
