On May 14, 2026, Guidecraft of Mocksville, North Carolina announced a voluntary recall of approximately 25,235 Kitchen Helper Towers in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) [1]. The recall covers both Classic and Contemporary styles sold across nine colors.

What Products Are Affected?

The recall covers Guidecraft Kitchen Helper Towers sold from June 1, 2022, through October 31, 2023, in Classic and Contemporary styles across nine colors. To determine whether a tower is included in the recall, consumers should check the foil sticker on the bottom of the tower’s platform, which displays both an item number and a lot number — both of which must match the lists provided by Guidecraft on its recall page.

The recalled towers were sold online at Guidecraft.com, Amazon, Wayfair, Walmart, Target, Maisonette, and Overstock from June 2022 through October 2023 for approximately $200. They were manufactured in China and imported by Guidecraft of Mocksville, North Carolina.

What Is the Hazard?

The platform inside the recalled Kitchen Helper Tower can loosen over time through normal use, causing it to become unstable or to detach completely. When a young child is standing on an unstable or detached platform, the risk of a sudden fall from an elevated height is serious and can result in significant injury.

Incidents and Injuries

Guidecraft has received 11 reports of children falling from the recalled towers. Three of those incidents resulted in injuries, including a bloody nose and bruises.

What Caused the Recall?

The recall was initiated after Guidecraft identified that the platform attachment mechanism inside the tower can degrade with repeated use, allowing the platform to shift, become unstable, or separate from the tower structure. Because the towers are designed to elevate young children to counter height, any platform instability creates a meaningful fall hazard.

What Should Parents Do?

Parents and caregivers who own the recalled Guidecraft Kitchen Helper Tower should stop using it immediately and keep it out of reach of children. Consumers should contact Guidecraft to receive free repair parts and installation instructions at no cost.

Can I File a Lawsuit?

Parents who purchased the recalled Guidecraft Kitchen Helper Tower — particularly those whose children were injured in a fall caused by a loosening or detaching platform — may have significant legal options. A class action lawsuit could allow affected families to seek compensation for medical expenses, pain and suffering, emotional distress, and other related losses.
