What’s the Problem?
This NHTSA Recall began in Dec. 2020, and affects:
- 2020 Ford EcoSport
- 2019-2020 Ford Transit Connect
Either the driver side or passenger side frontal airbag modules on these vehicles may be missing the first-stage booster propellant and sleeve, NHTSA said. Airbag modules missing the first-stage booster propellant will not deploy correctly during a crash, increasing the risk of severe injuries or death.
This problem causes the recalled vehicles to fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 208, “Occupant Crash Protection.”
If you purchased a vehicle that is affected by this recall, you should contact your Ford dealer to schedule a free repair.
Ford’s number for this recall is 20C26.
