On May 7, 2026, the CPSC issued a product safety warning urging consumers to stop using Dovety Steam Cleaners immediately [1]. The CPSC is aware of 52 reports of hot water spitting, spewing, spraying, spilling, leaking, or otherwise exiting the steamers, resulting in at least 48 reported burn injuries. The Chinese seller, Shenzhen Kaisennic Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd., has not agreed to a recall of the product.

What Products Are Affected?

The safety warning covers the following product:

  • Dovety Steam Cleaner, Model TMSC-001

The Dovety Steam Cleaner is a handheld, pressurized steam cleaner with a compact plastic body, an integrated water tank, a trigger-style steam release on the handle, and a screw-type cap on top for filling. It comes with 12 accessories, including round brushes, a bent spray nozzle, a squeegee attachment, an extension hose, and other interchangeable cleaning heads. The model number “TMSC-001” is printed on a label on the bottom of the unit, and the brand name “Dovety” appears on the side of the product.

The product was sold online at Amazon.com and TikTok and was manufactured in China.

What Is the Hazard?

The Dovety Steam Cleaner can leak or suddenly eject hot water or steam, posing a serious burn injury risk to consumers. The CPSC has received 52 incident reports involving the product, with at least 48 resulting in burn injuries.

Because the product is pressurized and operates at high temperatures, the risk of injury is significant, particularly if hot water or steam is unexpectedly discharged toward the face, hands, or other exposed skin.

What Caused the Safety Warning?

The CPSC determined that the Dovety Steam Cleaner poses an unreasonable risk of burn injury due to its propensity to leak or eject hot water and steam during use. Despite the agency’s efforts, the Chinese seller, Shenzhen Kaisennic Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd., has not agreed to a voluntary recall. As a result, the CPSC issued a public safety warning urging consumers to stop using the product and dispose of it immediately. Federal law prohibits any person from selling products subject to a CPSC safety warning of this nature.

What Should Consumers Do?

The CPSC urges consumers to stop using the Dovety Steam Cleaner immediately and dispose of it. Consumers should not sell or give away the product. Any incidents involving injury or product defects should be reported to the CPSC at www.SaferProducts.gov.

Consumers may also contact the CPSC hotline at 800-638-2772 (TTY 800-638-8270), available Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. ET.

Can I File a Lawsuit?

Consumers who purchased the Dovety Steam Cleaner — particularly those who suffered burn injuries as a result — may have legal options. A class action lawsuit could allow affected consumers to seek compensation for medical expenses, pain and suffering, lost wages, and other related losses.
