What’s the Problem?
The suit, Emily Hergert, et al. v. Conair Corp., Case No. 2020L001943, was filed on behalf of 2 women who allegedly suffered wrist and forearm burns caused by sparks from their Conair Infiniti Pro Hair Stylers Series 259Y Hair Dryers.
Plaintiffs Emily Hergert and McClanahan claim that their Conair hair dryers malfunctioned even though they were equipped with ‘safety plugs’ which are designed to recognize a change in the electrical current.
Furthermore, Hergert and McClanahan allege they would not have purchased the hair dryers had they known they could spark, catch fire, or were otherwise defective.
The class action lawsuit seeks to represent Illinois residents who purchased the Infiniti Pro Hair Styler Series 259Y, including those who were injured because of the hair dryer between Feb. 24, 2019, and the present.
