Latest Updates
On June 25, 2026, FSIS issued a public health alert for ready-to-eat Fresh Seasons Kitchen Chicken Caesar Wrap products due to confirmed Listeria monocytogenes contamination [1]. A formal recall was not requested because the product’s sell-by date had already passed and the wraps are no longer available for purchase. However, FSIS expressed concern that some product may still be in consumers’ refrigerators.
What Product Is Affected?
The alert covers 8.7-oz. clear plastic wrapped packages of “FRESH SEASONS Kitchen Chicken Caesar Wrap” with “Sell By: 6/24/2026” printed on the back label above the ingredient list. The products bear establishment number “P-45091” inside the USDA mark of inspection.
The affected wraps were produced on June 16, 2026 and shipped exclusively to Holiday convenience store locations in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Consumers who may have purchased this product and stored it should check their refrigerators and discard it immediately.
What Is the Hazard?
The recalled wraps tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes during routine FSIS product sampling. Listeria is a dangerous bacterium capable of causing serious and potentially fatal infections, particularly in pregnant women, newborns, adults aged 65 and older, and individuals with weakened immune systems.
Symptoms of listeriosis typically develop within two weeks of consuming a contaminated food but can appear as early as the same day or as late as 10 weeks after exposure. Mild symptoms include fever, muscle aches, nausea, and diarrhea, while more severe cases can cause headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance, and convulsions.
How the Contamination Was Discovered
The contamination was discovered during routine FSIS product testing — not as a result of reported consumer illnesses. A sample of the Fresh Seasons Kitchen Chicken Caesar Wrap tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes, prompting the agency to issue the public health alert.
No confirmed illnesses had been reported in connection with this product as of the June 25, 2026 alert date. FSIS is coordinating with public health officials and the producing establishment, Taher Inc., which operates under establishment number P-45091.
Incidents and Injuries
No confirmed illnesses have been reported in connection with the contaminated wraps as of the alert date. However, given that Listeria can have an incubation period of up to 10 weeks, consumers who ate the product and later developed symptoms should contact their healthcare provider and mention the potential exposure.
What Should Consumers Do?
Consumers who purchased Fresh Seasons Kitchen Chicken Caesar Wraps with a “Sell By: 6/24/2026” date from a Holiday convenience store in Minnesota or Wisconsin should not eat the product and should discard it by double-bagging or wrapping it and placing it in a secure trash receptacle, or return it to the store of purchase for a full refund.
Consumers with food safety questions may contact the USDA Meat and Poultry Hotline toll-free at 888-674-6854 or by email at MPHotline@usda.gov. Media and consumer inquiries may also be directed to Taher Inc. at communications@taher.com.
Can I File a Lawsuit?
Consumers who ate the recalled Fresh Seasons Kitchen Chicken Caesar Wrap and subsequently developed symptoms of listeriosis may have significant legal options. A class action lawsuit could allow affected individuals to seek compensation for medical expenses, hospitalization costs, lost wages, pain and suffering, and other related losses. Contact an attorney as soon as possible to learn more about your rights.
