What’s the Problem?
Bulldozers are extremely powerful machines that require experience and expertise to operate correctly. However, even when bulldozer operators are experienced, accidents happen. Due to the massive size of the machine, injuries are nearly always severe, and in some cases fatal.

Police Sued Over Pennsylvania Bulldozer Death
Pennsylvania State Police acted recklessly when troopers used a bulldozer to chase a man caught growing marijuana on public land, killing him when he got caught under the machine’s treads, according to a lawsuit recently filed in Philadelphia. The incident occurred when Greg Longenecker, a short-order cook and vegetable gardener, and David B. Light tended 10 marijuana plants on state game lands in Penn Township. A Pennsylvania Game Commission worker, operating a bulldozer in the area, spotted their car and called police. Light surrendered, but Longenecker fled into the woods. A state police helicopter spotted Longenecker in the underbrush, and the Game Commission worker used the bulldozer to follow the suspect. The bulldozer was traveling no more than 1 or 2 mph when Longenecker became trapped underneath, police said.
