On August 27, 2026, the CPSC issued a product safety warning urging consumers to immediately stop using and dispose of Warm Feather Pull String Highchair Teething Toys due to the risk of respiratory distress and deadly choking [1]. The CPSC issued a Notice of Violation to the seller, Suzhoujinchengzidianzishangwuyouxiangongsi dba Gold-Orange of China, but Gold-Orange has not cooperated with requests to recall the product. Federal law prohibits any person from selling products subject to a CPSC safety warning of this nature.
What Product Is Affected?
The warning covers Warm Feather Pull String Highchair Teething Toys — a yellow suction cup base with a teal ball in the center, six white, orange, and blue silicone pull strings running through the ball, and six soft push buttons on the base. The front of the product packaging reads “Table toy.”
Approximately 38,253 units are affected. The toys were sold exclusively on Amazon.com from July 2023 through April 2026 for approximately $12, though the CPSC notes the product may also have been sold by third-party sellers on other websites.
What Is the Hazard?
The teething toy violates the mandatory federal toy safety standard because its silicone strings are longer and thinner than the standard permits. Because the toy is specifically designed to be placed in a young infant’s mouth during teething, strings of this length and diameter can reach the back of the child’s throat and become lodged, posing a serious risk of respiratory distress and a potentially deadly choking hazard.
Incidents and Injuries
The CPSC is aware of nine reports of children beginning to choke on the recalled toy’s silicone strings. No medical attention was required in connection with any of the nine reported choking incidents.
No Recall, No Remedy — What Parents Should Do
Because Gold-Orange has refused to cooperate with the CPSC’s recall requests, there is no refund or replacement program available for this product. Parents and caregivers should stop using the toy immediately, keep it away from children, and dispose of it — it should not be sold or given away under any circumstances.
