What’s the problem?
July 24, 2018 – According to the new lawsuits, USC covered up decades of complaints regarding sexual misconduct by Dr. Tyndall, including numerous reports from female nurses who allegedly witnessed the abuse first-hand. The plaintiffs include a multi-generational swath of USC alumni from across the U.S. and overseas, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Since the first lawsuits against USC over Tyndall were filed in May, more than 200 women have come forward to enter into several large class actions against the university. Plaintiffs claim the now-71-year old inappropriately photographed their genitals, made lewd comments about their bodies, and touched patients without medical gloves, the Times said.
Tyndall has not responded publicly to the latest allegations. In previous interviews with the LA Times, he defended his medical exams as “thorough” and “appropriate,” adding that frank and honest dialogue about sex lives was part of his interaction with patients.
“I never had any sexual urges” toward patients, Tyndall said in the interview.
