Latest Updates

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission issued a product safety warning on September 4, 2025, urging consumers to immediately stop using Tajarly heated insoles. [1] The warning (CPSC 25-457) followed four reports of ignition, fires, and thermal incidents resulting in burn injuries, including two victims who required extended hospital stays.

Product Details

The defective Tajarly heated insoles are black and contain an internal lithium-ion battery operated by a remote control. The brand name “Tajarly” is printed on the sole and also appears on purchase receipts.

The insoles were sold exclusively on Amazon from July 2022 through July 2024 for between $33 and $320. They were manufactured in China by Shenzhen Tejiali Technology Co.

Hazard and Injuries

The internal lithium-ion battery in Tajarly heated insoles can overheat and ignite even when the insoles are turned off. This defect poses serious risks of burn injuries and fire hazards to consumers.

The CPSC has received four reports of ignition, fires, and other thermal incidents involving these defective heated insoles. At least two incidents resulted in burn injuries severe enough to require extended hospital stays.

Manufacturer’s Failure to Respond

Shenzhen Tejiali Technology Co. of China manufactures the Tajarly heated insoles and has been completely unresponsive to CPSC requests. The company has refused to initiate a recall or provide any information about the defective product.

This lack of cooperation demonstrates a callous disregard for consumer safety and has left victims without manufacturer support. The CPSC was forced to issue a public safety warning without the manufacturer’s assistance or participation.

Disposal Instructions

Consumers must immediately stop using Tajarly heated insoles and dispose of them following local hazardous waste disposal procedures. Do not throw the defective lithium-ion battery or device in household trash, general recycling bins, or retail battery recycling boxes.

Contact your municipal household hazardous waste collection center before disposal to confirm they accept defective lithium-ion batteries. If they do not accept these batteries, contact your municipality for further guidance on proper disposal.

Amazon’s Responsibility

The Tajarly heated insoles were sold exclusively through Amazon.com, raising critical questions about the platform’s duty to protect consumers. Amazon allowed a foreign manufacturer to sell dangerous, defective products through its marketplace for two years without adequate safety oversight.

Despite the manufacturer’s refusal to cooperate with federal regulators, these hazardous insoles remained available to unsuspecting consumers. Amazon may face potential liability for facilitating the sale of products that caused serious burn injuries and hospitalizations.

Legal Claims

Victims who suffered burn injuries from Tajarly heated insoles may be entitled to significant compensation through product liability lawsuits. Claims may include strict product liability for defective design and manufacturing, failure to warn about known hazards, negligence, breach of warranty, and violations of consumer protection laws.

Injured parties can pursue damages for past and future medical expenses, hospitalization costs, surgical procedures, pain and suffering, permanent scarring or disfigurement, lost wages, emotional distress, and property damage from fires. The manufacturer’s refusal to cooperate with safety regulators may support claims for punitive damages designed to punish egregious corporate misconduct.

Contact an Attorney

If you or a loved one suffered burn injuries from Tajarly heated insoles purchased on Amazon, you may be entitled to substantial compensation. Contact an experienced product liability attorney immediately to discuss your legal rights and potential claims against the manufacturer and Amazon.

Time limits apply to filing product liability lawsuits, so prompt action is essential to protect your rights. An attorney can investigate your case, preserve critical evidence, navigate the complexities of pursuing claims against foreign manufacturers, and fight to hold all responsible parties accountable for selling defective products that cause serious injuries.
