What’s the Problem?
According to the CPSC Recall Notice, this action affects Subaru Legacy cars from model years 2003-2014.
Affected vehicles were manufactured with airbag inflators that can explode when deployed after long-term exposure to high heat and humidity. Such explosions have caused hundreds of injuries and nearly 20 deaths worldwide, NHTSA said.
If you purchased a vehicle that is affected by this airbag recall, you should take it to your Subaru dealer for a free repair. This recall began on Jan. 7, 2020.
