Update: Nationwide Recall of Sno Pac Organic Spinach Amid Listeria Concerns

October 8, 2025 – Sno Pac Foods, based in Minnesota, has issued a nationwide recall for its Del Mar 35-pound Bulk Organic Frozen Spinach and Sno Pac 10-ounce Organic Frozen Cut Spinach due to potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes, a bacteria that poses severe risks, including life-threatening infections for young children, elderly individuals, and pregnant women, potentially leading to miscarriages or stillbirths.

Although no illnesses have been reported, consumers are urged to return or discard the products, identified by specific lot codes with best-by dates ranging from April to July 2027, while the company suspends production to trace the contamination source.

The FDA emphasizes that even healthy individuals may experience flu-like symptoms such as fever, nausea, or headaches, underscoring the urgency of removing these products from freezers to prevent health risks.

What’s the Problem?

This FDA Recall began on Nov. 28, 2020, and affects the following products:

  • BABY SPINACH. 8 X 5 OZ, Fresh Attitude, Best before 2020-12-04 & 2020-12-05
    UPC : 888048000042
    UPC case : 10888048000049
  • BABY SPINACH. 9 X 11 OZ, Fresh Attitude, Best before 2020-12-04
    UPC : 888048000288
    UPC case : 10888048000285

The recalled baby spinach was produced in Vegpro’s Eastern Canadian plant and distributed in New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Connecticut, Maryland and Pennsylvania.

Consumers who purchased any recalled spinach products should either throw them away or return them for a refund.

Anyone concerned about a potential food poisoning illness should call their doctor immediately.
