What’s the Problem?
This CPSC Recall affects:
- 2018-2020 Rocky Mountain Instinct trail bikes
- 2018-2020 Rocky Mountain Instinct BC trail bikes
- 2018-2020 Rocky Mountain Pipeline trail bikes
Rocky Mountain Bicycles has received at least 12 reports of their trail bikes’ front triangles cracking, CPSC said.
The recalled bikes have the words “Rocky Mountain” printed on the downtube, and “Instinct,” “Instinct BC” or “Pipeline” inside the seatstay on the left hand side. Affected bicycles are equipped with 29 inch and 27.5+ inch wheels.
Bikes included in this recall were sold at independent bicycle stores nationwide from August 2017 through June 2020 for between $2,600 and $4,700, CPSC said. Click on the CPSC Recall Notice for a complete list of models and serial numbers affected.
Consumers who purchased a recalled trail bike should stop using it and contact Rocky Mountain for a free replacement front triangle.
