What’s the Problem?
According to a CPSC Recall Letter dated June 1, 2023, this action affects Chinese-made PowerXL Models SHL96 (UPC 7-52356-83067-0) and SHL90-SC (UPC 7-52356-83138-7) Self-Cleaning Juicers.
Tristar Products Inc. initiated this recall after the company received at least 261 reports of incidents including 47 reports of injuries, some of which involved severe cuts requiring emergency treatment, stitches, bruises and ingestion of small particles requiring medical attention.
The “PowerXL” logo is located on the front of the recalled juicer. The model numbers and UPC codes are printed on the bottom of the Model SHL96 and on the back of the SHL90-SC juicer.
Model SHL90-SC was sold online and at Walmart and other stores nationwide and model SHL96 was sold at BJ’s Wholesale Club, CVS, Kohl’s, Marshall’s, Target, T.J. Maxx, Walmart, and other stores across the U.S. between September 2020 and August 2022 for $65-$100.
Consumers who purchased a recalled Power XL Juicer should stop using it immediately and contact Empower Brands to receive a full refund.
