What’s the Problem?
This NHTSA Recall began on April 30, 2021, and affects:
- 2017-2018 Porsche Macan
- 2017-2018 Porsche Macan Turbo Kits
- 2017-2018 Porsche Macan GTS
- 2015-2018 Porsche Macan S
- 2015-2018 Porsche Macan Turbo
The front passenger seat occupancy sensor mat on the above vehicles may degrade and fail to detect a passenger in the front seat. The airbag will not deploy during a crash if a front passenger is undetected, increasing the risk of injury.
Porsche is notifying owners and dealers will replace the
sensor mat and seat cushion, free of charge.
Porsche’s number for this recall is AMA2.
