Update: Polaris Snowmobiles Recalled Over Defective Fuel Tank, Fire Hazard
November 17, 2022 – The CPSC has announced a recall for model years 2021-2023 Polaris MATRYX, 2015-2022 Polaris AXYS, and 2013-2014 Polaris Pro-Ride Snowmobiles manufactured with a potentially faulty fuel tank which can produce an electrostatic discharge that can cause vapors to ignite during operation and the tank to burst.
This problem has caused the fuel tanks of at least 30 Polaris Snowmobiles to burst, CPSC said, including 16 incidents of fire and 1 report of a second-degree burn. The agency is warning owners of the recalled snowmobiles to stop using them immediately and contact Polaris to schedule a free repair.

CPSC is aware of at least 13 reports of improperly secured fuel hoses on recalled Polaris snowmobiles.
Affected snowmobiles were sold at Polaris dealers from December 2013 through April 2020 for between $7,400 and $15,100.
Consumers who purchased a recalled snowmobile should stop using them and contact a Polaris dealer for a free inspection and repair.
