Latest Updates
On March 6, 2025, Luv n’ care of Monroe, Louisiana announced a voluntary recall of its Nuby Stroller Fan in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) [1]. The fans were manufactured in China and imported by Luv n’ care. The company is contacting all known purchasers directly.
What Product Is Affected?
The recall covers the Nuby Stroller Fan, model number 25138, lot number N8K10X. The fan is black with the Nuby brand name printed on the front center, features three speeds, adjustable flexible tripod legs that wrap around a stroller bar, and a rechargeable USB port.
The model number and lot number are printed on a white label on the back center of the fan. The recalled fans were sold at Baby Express, Burlington Coat Factory, Target, and Unique Photo stores nationwide, and online at Amazon.com and us.nuby.com from May 2024 through June 2024 for approximately $15.
What Is the Hazard?
The housing on the recalled Nuby Stroller Fan allows small children’s fingers to contact the rotating fan blade during operation. Because the fan is designed to clip onto a stroller — where an infant or toddler is directly adjacent to the spinning blades — a child’s fingers can reach the blade with very little effort, creating a serious laceration hazard.
Incidents and Injuries
Luv n’ care has received seven reports of children’s fingers accessing the fan blade on the recalled stroller fans. Six of those incidents resulted in laceration injuries to children’s fingers.
What Should Parents Do?
Parents and caregivers who own the recalled Nuby Stroller Fan should stop using it immediately and keep it away from children. Luv n’ care is providing a free replacement fan to all affected consumers.
To receive the free replacement, consumers should contact Luv n’ care toll-free at 800-588-6227, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. CT, by email at customers@nuby.com, or online at us.nuby.com/pages/fanrecall. Can I File a Lawsuit?
Parents whose children suffered laceration injuries from the recalled Nuby Stroller Fan may have significant legal options. A class action lawsuit could allow affected families to seek compensation for medical expenses, pain and suffering, emotional distress, and other related losses. Contact an attorney to learn more about your rights.
