Latest Updates

On October 16, 2025, iFIT Inc. of Logan, Utah announced a voluntary recall of approximately 44,800 NordicTrack RW900 Rowing Machines in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) [1]. An additional 700 units were sold in Canada. The recalled rowing machines were manufactured in China and imported by iFIT Inc.

What Products Are Affected?

The recall covers NordicTrack Rowing Machines with model numbers NTRW19147.0, NTRW19147.1, NTRW19147.2, and NTRW19147.3. The model number is printed on a decal affixed to the rower base.

The recalled rowing machines are black, gray, and white, with “NordicTrack” printed in black letters on the front legs and “RW900” printed in white letters on the back legs. The affected machines were sold in-store and online at Best Buy, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Nebraska Furniture, and ABT stores nationwide, as well as online at NordicTrack.com and Amazon.com from November 2018 through April 2022 for approximately $1,700.

What Is the Hazard?

The screen console on the recalled NordicTrack RW900 can overheat and ignite during use or while plugged in, posing a serious fire hazard to consumers and their homes. Because the rowing machine is typically used indoors — often in a home gym, bedroom, or living space — a console fire can rapidly spread to nearby furniture, flooring, and other combustible materials.

Incidents and Injuries

iFIT has received eight reports of incidents involving the recalled rowing machine, including two fires and six reports of the screen console smoking or melting. The incidents have resulted in at least $6,000 in documented property damage, though no personal injuries have been reported to date.

What Caused the Recall?

The recall was initiated after iFIT identified that the screen console on the NordicTrack RW900 can overheat and reach temperatures sufficient to ignite the unit. The defect affects all four model number variants of the NTRW19147 rowing machine produced during the approximately three-and-a-half year sales window from late 2018 through early 2022.

What Should Consumers Do?

Consumers who own the recalled NordicTrack RW900 Rowing Machine should stop using it immediately and unplug it from the wall. iFIT is offering a free home repair in the form of a replacement screen console, installed by an authorized technician at the consumer’s residence at no cost.

Can I File a Lawsuit?
