What’s the Problem?
This NHTSA Recall began on October 30, 2020, and affects Mercedes GLB 250 SUVs from model year 2020.
The window airbag in the A-pillar area on affected vehicles may not be mounted correctly, affecting its performance. This makes the vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 226, “Ejection Mitigation.”
“In the event of a crash that deploys the window air bag, the catch strap could disconnect and increase the risk of injury,” NHTSA said.
If you purchased a GLB that is affected by this recall, you should stop using it immediately and contact your Mercedes dealer for a free inspection and, if necessary, repair.
Mercedes-Benz’ number for this recall is 2020100010.
