On August 13, 2026, GigaCloud Technology (USA) Inc. of El Monte, California announced a voluntary recall of Merax full-size and twin-size Murphy beds in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) [1]. The beds were manufactured in Vietnam and imported by GigaCloud Technology (USA) Inc.
What Products Are Affected?
The recall covers Merax full-size and twin-size Murphy beds, all sold in white. Three model numbers and their associated SKU codes are included in the recall:
- Model GX000392AAK (Full-Size) — SKU Codes: WF530245, WF530246, WF530247, WF530248 — 78.2″L x 108.4″W x 99″H
- Model GX000391AAK (Twin-Size) — SKU Codes: WF530240, WF530241, WF530242, WF530243 — 78.2″L x 93.2″W x 99″H
- Model GX000383AAK (Full-Size) — SKU Codes: WF324470, WF324471, WF324472 — 76″L x 95.2″W x 83.8″H
The SKU code is printed on a yellow sticker on the inside frame of the bed. Importantly, the same product may have been sold by other marketplace sellers under different brand names — including Euroco, Harper & Bright Designs, Modern Luxe, Polibi, and others — so consumers should check the SKU code rather than the brand name to confirm whether their bed is included in the recall.
The recalled beds were sold at Amazon.com, HomeDepot.com, Wayfair.com, Walmart.com, Target.com, Overstock.com, Temu.com, and other websites from May 2024 through February 2026 for between $900 and $1,100.
What Is the Hazard?
The frame of the recalled Murphy bed can fall onto consumers during assembly or disassembly, posing serious impact, crush, and laceration hazards. A wall bed frame falling at height — before it is properly anchored to the wall — can cause devastating injuries to anyone positioned beneath or adjacent to it during the installation process.
Incidents and Injuries
GigaCloud Technology has received two reports of Murphy beds falling during assembly when the beds were not yet anchored to the wall. One consumer sustained bruising to his head, neck, and right shoulder, and another sustained a hit to his head along with scrapes and bruises on his arms.
What Should Consumers Do?
Consumers who own a recalled Merax Murphy bed should stop using it immediately. Depending on whether the bed has been assembled, consumers will receive different remedies — those who have not yet assembled the bed will receive a free repair kit containing unloaded piston springs, updated assembly instructions, and inspection instructions, while those who have already assembled the bed will receive inspection instructions to check their installation.
If a consumer determines their bed was assembled incorrectly, GigaCloud Technology will send a professional installer to correct or complete the installation at no cost.
