What’s the Problem?
According to an NHTSA Recall Notice dated 8/11/20, the front brake caliper mounting bolts on affected Mazda3 vehicles may not have been tightened properly during assembly, potentially allowing the calipers to become loose.
Loose brake calipers can reduce braking performance or interfere with wheel rotation, increasing the risk of a crash.
Mazda is notifying owners and dealers will inspect the front brake caliper bolts, tightening them as necessary. If bolts are missing, the affected brake caliper will be replaced, free of charge.
Mazda’s Recall Number for these vehicles is 4420F.
