What’s the Problem?
This FDA Recall began on Jan. 16, 2021, and affects the following Lake Champlain Chocolates:
- Hazelnut Five Star Bar
- Fruit & Nut Five Star Bar
- Almond Five Star Bar
- Granola Five Star Bar
- Organic Milk Chocolate Bar with Sea Salt & Almonds
- Milk Chocolate Almond Bark
- Chocolates of Vermont Green Mountain
Lake Champlain Chocolates issued this recall after a consumer reported finding brittle plastic pieces in a finished product. The recall includes all potential affected product currently on the market from July 2020 through January 2021.
The recalled chocolates were included in a variety of gift packages, boxes and baskets, and distributed nationwide and in Lake Champlain Chocolates’ 3 Vermont retail stores.
Consumers who purchased any recalled chocolate should either throw it away or return it to the point of purchase for a full refund.
If you are concerned about a potential adverse reaction to the recalled chocolates, you should dial 9-1-1 immediately.
