What’s the problem?

August 3, 2017 – The iPhone cases were recalled by Mixbin Electronics, and have been linked to at least 24 cases of liquid leaking out and burning skin, according to the CPSC Recall Announcement.
One consumer claims to have suffered permanent scarring from a chemical burn and another said they had chemical burns and swelling along their leg, face, neck, chest, upper body and hands.

The cases were sold throughout the U.S., in Mexico and Canada by retailers including Amazon, Henri Bendel, MixBin, Nordstrom Rack, Tory Burch and Victoria’s Secret. The products sold for between $15 and $65 each.

If you purchased an iPhone case that is affected by this recall, you should stop using it immediately and contact Mixbin for a full refund. The cases came in various styles, some of which are featured on the CPSC’s website.

Why Our Firm Opposes a Class Action in the iPhone Case Litigation

Our lawyers have decided not to file a class action lawsuit related to injuries alleged from defective iPhone cases. It has been our experience that in this type of litigation, class actions typically result in low-ball settlement offers and inadequate compensation for class members. At Schmidt & Clark, LLP, our goal is to maximize each client’s recovery by filing individual lawsuits on behalf of injured parties. Contact us today to learn more about your legal rights.
