Dupray USA LLC announced a recall of approximately 651,145 Neat Steam Cleaners on February 26, 2026 due to risk of burn hazards or serious injury. [1] The company reported 15 boiler ruptures, including four reports of minor burns, bruises, lacerations, and a broken wrist, plus at least seven reports of minor property damage.

Recalled Products

The recall involves portable Dupray Neat Steam Cleaners designed to clean, detail, sanitize, and deodorize household surfaces. The cleaner has a white base connected to a black flexible hose with Model Number DUP020WNA and Batch/Date Codes 0118-01 through 0425-05 on the rating label on the bottom.

Units were sold at dupray.com, Home Depot, Lowe’s, Macy’s, Walmart, Amazon, and other retailers nationwide from April 2018 through December 2025 for about $150. An additional 96,530 units were sold in Canada.

Boiler Rupture Hazard

The steam cleaner’s boiler can rupture if it is overfilled, corroded and the pressure release valve malfunctions. When the boiler ruptures, it can explode with tremendous force, spraying hot steam and boiling water onto users or bystanders, posing risk of serious burns or injury.

Reported Injuries

Dupray has received 15 reports of boiler ruptures nationwide. Four consumers suffered minor burns, bruises, lacerations, and one person sustained a broken wrist from the exploding steam cleaners.

At least seven reports documented minor property damage from boiler ruptures. The violent explosions caused damage to floors, walls, and surrounding household items when boilers ruptured during use.

Remedy Available

Consumers should stop using the recalled steam cleaners immediately and visit dupray.com for instructions on receiving a free replacement safety boiler cap. Consumers need their batch code from the bottom of the cleaner to determine eligibility, and the new safety cap installs with a simple screw-on design.

Design Defects

The steam cleaners are defectively designed with boilers that can rupture when overfilled or corroded if the pressure release valve malfunctions. The pressure release valve fails to properly vent excess steam pressure, allowing dangerous pressure to build inside the boiler until it explodes.

Legal Claims

Consumers injured by Dupray steam cleaners may pursue strict products liability claims for defective design because the boilers rupture due to inadequate pressure release valves. Failure to warn claims are viable since Dupray did not adequately warn consumers about the risk of boiler rupture and explosion hazards.

Negligence claims can allege Dupray continued selling steam cleaners despite knowing about boiler rupture incidents causing burns and broken bones. Manufacturing defect claims may assert specific units had corroded boilers or malfunctioning pressure release valves.

Damages

Victims may recover medical expenses for emergency treatment of burns, fractures, and lacerations, plus hospitalization and ongoing wound care. Additional damages include pain and suffering, permanent scarring from burns, lost wages, and property damage to homes from exploding boilers.

Class Action Potential

With over 651,000 units sold in the U.S. and 96,530 in Canada over seven years, a nationwide class action could address widespread distribution of defective steam cleaners. Economic damages for consumers who purchased defective products could be recovered even without physical injury.

Contact an Attorney

If you suffered burns, fractures, lacerations, or property damage from a Dupray Neat Steam Cleaner boiler rupture, contact a product liability attorney. Time limits apply and evidence including the steam cleaner, model and batch numbers, purchase records, and medical documentation must be preserved.
