What’s the Problem?

This NHTSA Recall began in March 2021, and affects Safety Belt Solutions seat belts with part number 202441-1/MFG 35FB9. The tongues on these seat belts may not have been heat-treated correctly during manufacturing.

“Incorrectly heat-treated seat belt tongues may not properly restrain an occupant in the event of a crash, increasing their risk of injury,” NHTSA said. “As such, these seat belts fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 209, “Seat Belt Assemblies.”

Safety Belt Solutions is notifying the manufacturer that purchased the equipment, and Safety Belt Solutions will test the seat belts, and replace them as necessary, free of charge.
