What’s the Problem?
This FDA Recall began on July 7, 2021, and affects 5.9 oz. Chicken Salad Sandwiches sold at Circle K stores in the Phoenix, Arizona and Southern California areas between 6/1/21 – 7/5/21.
“LSG Sky Chefs announced today that it is issuing a voluntary recall of its Chicken Salad Sandwich because it has the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems,” FDA said.
The recalled chicken salad sandwiches are packaged with Circle K branding, feature a “best buy” date of 6/7/21 through 7/9/21, and contain the UPC code 815138013996.
LSG Sky Chefs produces the Chicken Salad Sandwiches for Circle K stores, FDA said. The chicken used is subject to a national recall issued by Tyson Foods Inc.
Consumers who purchased a recalled chicken salad sandwich should either discard it or return it to Circle K for a refund.
