What’s the Problem?
This NHTSA Recall began on September 14, 2020, and affects Chevrolet Traverse sport utility vehicles from model year 2020.
The diffuser component of the Roof-Rail Air Bag (RRAB) inflator on affected SUVs may not have been properly crimped to the inflator and could separate from the inflator during air bag deployment, according to the NHTSA. If the diffuser separates from the inflator during deployment, RRAB performance may be degraded, increasing the risk of injury in a crash.
If you purchased a Chevy Traverse that is affected by this recall, you should contact your local General Motors dealer for a free airbag repair.
GM’s number for this recall is N202305380.
