What’s the Problem?
This recall affects Audi Q3 vehicles from model year 2020, according to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
The brake pedal plate on affected vehicles can bend or detach under the pressure applied during sudden stopping, NHTSA said. A bent or detached brake pedal plate decreases the contact area for the driver’s foot and increases the risk of a crash.
Volkswagen is notifying owners and dealers will inspect the brake pedal weld and, if necessary, replace the brake pedal, free of charge.
This recall began on January 31, 2021.
