What’s the Problem?

September 10, 2018 – Products affected by the recall include “Single Dozen and 2.5 Dozen Flats” size of Gravel Ridge “Cage Free Large Eggs” with use-by dates of July 25, 2018, through Oct. 3, 2018, FDA said. The UPC on the recalled eggs is 7-06970-38444-6.

The recalled eggs were sold “primarily in restaurants and retail stores” in Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee, and were distributed from June 25 thru September 6, 2018, to the following locations (this is a only partial list) :

Gravel Ridge Farms initiated the recall following an FDA inspection which revealed the presence of salmonella bacteria in the eggs. Reported illnesses were confirmed at locations using the eggs, FDA said.

FDA Recommendation

FDA is advising customers who purchased the recalled eggs to discard them immediately, “regardless of the date stamped on the package,” or return them to the point of purchase for a refund. Customers with questions about the recall may contact Gravel Ridge Farms during normal business hours.
