What’s the Problem?
September 19, 2016 – This recall affects 10-count packs of Kellogg Eggo Nutri-Grain Whole Wheat Waffles with “Best if used by” dates of Nov. 21 and Nov. 22, 2017, and the UPC product code 38000 40370. Consumers have been asked to discard any products included in this action and contact Kellogg for a full refund. To date, no listeria illnesses have been reported in connection with this recall.
Listeria infection, or listeriosis, is a foodborne illness that typically affects children, the elderly, pregnant women and people with compromised immune systems. However, in rare cases otherwise healthy adults can become infected as well. Signs and symptoms of listeriosis include:
- Muscle aches
If the infection spreads to the nervous system, symptoms may include:
- Stiff neck
- Confusion or changes in alertness
- Loss of balance

No class action lawsuit has been filed over food poisoning cases linked to Kellogg’s Eggo Waffles.
