The Elk River Fire Department in Southwestern Oregon recently sent a Facebook post to consumers urging them to be aware of an ongoing recall for dehumidifiers which have been reported to overheat and catch fire.

October 8, 2018 – The Facebook post was issued in response to at least 2 area house fires attributed to defective humidifiers, according to CBS Local.
One of the dehumidifiers implicated in the recent house fires was part of a massive recall being conducted by the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC).
